"RagDoll" in Catalan: NINA-DE-DRAP?

Yes, Nina De Drap (pronounced nina-dae-draap) literally means ragdoll in Catalan - my native language. Nina means doll, and to refer to a rag, we say drap. Catalonia is a region within Spain where the natives speak a different language from Spanish, where rag doll is said "muñeca de trapo" while in Catalan we say "nina de drap."

Why Ragdoll?

Because of this animal's sweet NATURE: Ragdoll cats get their name because when you pick them up, they go limp and "flop down" in your arms, like a child's RAG DOLL toy would. In addition, the Ragdoll cat's docile demeanor, gentle personality, calm predisposition and its fur's utmost softness are reminders of a ragdolls' cuddly attributes.

Where is Catalonia Anyway?

Catalonia is in Europe and borders with France in the North, Spain in the Southwest and all of its East shore with the Mediterranean sea. Barcelona is the port from which Christopher Columbus sailed off to eventually discover America - one would say that from its shores, Catalonia "faces" Italy.

I was born in the city of Lleida - about 1 hour West of Barcelona. This medieval castle is a XII century cathedral where we had our wedding: La Seu Vella of Lleida. We're humbly proud of sharing our Cat-American heritage ^..^=

Our Ragdolls are a Labor of Love

Our Ragdolls are strictly indoor cats, raised with love at our home, like family members. They enjoy daily play with our children, and freely to interact with the whole family.

The well-being of ALL our family members is our top priority. We are committed to raising healthy HCM-free kittens, testing and preventing disease in our cattery. We feed our precious Ragdolls a nutritious low-grain diet, and kittens receive two vet examinations and all age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption.

Sometimes a kitten will be placed "on hold/under evaluation" beyond 8 weeks of age, while its features develop, and may later be released to be sold as "pet quality" if found not suitable for show in the Cat Fancy or for breeding.

We reserve the right to refuse the sale of our Ragdolls to anyone we feel is not the right home for one of our cats. Pick up and local delivery available, no shipping, sorry.
